BRTC bus fire victim Tk 25,000 handed over to Khadiza's family

Minister for Women and Children Affairs Khurshed Jahan Hoque on Monday handed over a cheque for Taka 25,000 to the family of Khadiza Begum, who was burnt alive along with her eight-year old daughter Arina in an arson attack on a BRTC bus here on June 4 last, reports BSS.

Khadiza was an employee of the Women Directorate under the ministry, an official hand out said in Dhaka. The minister handed over the cheque to Manjila, 22 and Tanjila, 20, the two daughters of late Khadiza at a simple ceremony at her Secretariat office on Monday.

Secretary of the ministry Mohammed M Murtuza Hossain Munshi and joint secretary Ferdous Ara Begum were present.
