79 Rohingyas sent back to refugee camp after detaining

Police and members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a joint drive detained 79 Rohingya people in Ukhia upazila in the last eight hours between 12:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Saturday.

 

The joint force set up a check post at Ukhia bus station on Teknaf-Cox’s Bazar highway and detained 79 Rohingyas conducting drive in different vehicles.

 

Later, the detained Rohingyas were sent back to Kutupalang Refugee Camp.

Dhaka, Sept 24 (UNB) - Customs officials recovered 40 gold bars weighing 4.6 kg from a flight of US Bangla Airlines at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday.

 

Director General of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) Moinul Khan said a customs team conducted a raid on the aircraft, which landed at the airport from Kolkata, around 2:30pm and recovered a black packet wrapped in scotch tape in an abandoned condition beneath a seat.

Light rain yesterday caused severe traffic congestion at different parts of the capital, inflicting sufferings to the city dwellers.

 

Commuters, especially office-goers, and schoolchildren, had to spend at least 30 minutes to an hour more to reach their destinations.
